Balchik
Balchik stays 29 km. north of Varna and 19 km. from Kavarna. This is an
ancient town which has been inhabited even from the Thracian tribes.
Later on some Greek settlers came and have been so impressed by the
natural beauty of this place that they have established their own town,
named “Dionisipolis” from the Greek god Dionissius – god of wine and
feasts.
The town impresses with its picturesque nature, nice beach strip almost 4 km. long and its cultural and historical monuments, old houses, churches, museums.
Here is created on of the richest botanical gardens in Europe with enormous variety of different plants. In Balchik there is also a port and many new hotels and rooms to rent for the tourists.
There is a regular transport to Dobrich, Varna, and Albena. Apart from buses there are numerous route-taxis and private minibuses.
